Your Responsibilities:

 

ICF Requirements:

 

It is an ICF requirement that the 10 Mentor Coaching hours are completed over a minimum of three months.  The first date of your Advanced Coaching Skills Practicum class is considered the start of your group mentor coaching arrangement with Coaching Out of the Box®.

 

What's included in each of your three sessions:

  • 30 minutes for your Mentor Coach to observe or listen to a coaching session together.
  • Verbal Feedback from your Mentor Coach or recorded live feedback from your Mentor Coach

Please note: If you have to cancel a session that is booked with your Mentor Coach it MUST be canceled 24 hours prior. IF you cancel within the 24 hour period leading up to your Mentor Coaching Session you will need to buy another Mentor Coaching hour.

 

Understanding the process:

 

Your three 1:1 mentor coaching sessions can be in either of the following three optional formats, live, pre-recorded or coach-the-coach:

 

PRE-RECORDED:

  • Record a minimum of 20-minute to a maximum of 30-minute coaching session with a client of your choice. Please note your Mentor Coach has the right to refuse any recordings that are outside of this requirement.  
  • Listen to your own recording and complete both sections of the Mentor Coaching Feedback Form; Competency Self-Assessment and My Action Plan.
  • Set up a 60-minute call with your Mentor Coach to review your pre-recorded coaching session OR

RECORDED LIVE OBSERVED:

  • Arrange a 20 - 30 minute coaching session with a client of your choice and plan to have your Mentor Coach booked for 1 hour, record this session. 
  • Listen to the recorded coaching session and complete both sections of the Mentor Coaching Feedback Form; Competency Self-Assessment and My Action Plan.

COACH-THE-COACH:

  • Set-up a 60-minute call with your Mentor Coach and student coach will coach mentor and mentor will give feedback following the coaching in the moment (feedback/mentoring based on their experience as client)
  • (we realize and share that not all mentors provide this format)

 

At least one of the 3 sessions MUST be a recorded session.

 

Plan to do either of these formats three times and enjoy the learning process!

 

Mentor Coach Responsibilities:

 

As required by the ICF, it is our responsibility to inform you of the following:

  • Mentor Coaches are to make no guarantee to mentor coaching clients that as a result of the mentoring that client will obtain the credential level s/he is seeking.  The decision regarding approval of recordings for ACC credential are made by ICF assessors.  For this reason, your Mentor Coach is not in a position to suggest or recommend if a recording is likely to pass an ICF assessment or not.
